Will Flood Damage at Shreveport Facility Impact 50 Cent Deal?

SHREVEPORT, LA - Crews have been working over the past week to clean up a mess at the Millennium Studios building just west of downtown Shreveport.

Shreveport Bossier got as much as 5 inches of rain in just a few hours on Saturday June 3.

Water got into the building and much of the floor was damaged.

This complex is one of the local buildings Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson wants to lease to bring TV and movie productions to our area.

Mayor Tom Arceneaux tells KEEL News 

We are working with Mr. Jackson and his team and we have had some discussions with them about what might need to be done to make sure that it doesn't happen again. We don't think there is any permanent damage.

 

Arceneaux says this was most likely flash flood related. He says "it's the first time since the construction of that studio that they've have any of those kind of issues. Our Traffic Engineer, SPAR officials and Public Works are trying to find out if there was some malfunction or if it was just one of those things."

50 Cent wants to use the Millennium Studios building and the old Expo Hall for projects he is developing. The city has prepared a lease agreement with Jackson for both of those facilities, but the deal is not yet final.

Mayor Arceneaux says his team has been assessing the damage and informing Jackson's team. But the Mayor says we got about five inches of rain in two hours at that location.
