True sci-fi royalty is coming to Shreveport...the amazing Summer Glau is coming to Geek'd Con.
Summer skyrocketed to geek-icon status as River Tam, the highly intelligent, telepathic, and incredibly lethal prodigy on board the spaceship Serenity. Fans fell in love with her unforgettable performance in the cult-classic series Firefly and the blockbuster film Serenity (which earned her a Saturn Award). Now the whole world is rallying to see her bring River back to life in the online driven continuation!
Beyond the Black, Summer delivered another legendary, Saturn Award-winning performance, in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. She starred as Cameron, a highly advanced, reprogrammed Terminator sent back in time to protect a young John Connor. Summer perfectly balanced the cold, ruthless, and robotic nature of a lethal cyborg, with a uniquely sympathetic and almost childlike curiosity about humanity. She crafted one of the absolute best characters in the entire Terminator franchise.
Summer also left a massive mark on the DC universe during the incredible second season of Arrow. Summer played the recurring antagonist Isabel Rochev, a ruthless businesswoman who hostilely takes over Queen Consolidated. Fans were thrilled when her true, deadly, nature was revealed as she suited up as the masked villain Ravager. She fought alongside Deathstroke, and proved once again that nobody does physically demanding, highly lethal roles, quite like her!
She also reunited with the Firefly creative team for a brilliant, scene-stealing run on the sci-fi series Dollhouse. She played Bennett Halverson, a genius-level, but deeply damaged and vengeful, Doll programmer. It was a fantastic departure from her usual action-heavy roles, allowing her to showcase her incredible acting range as a complex, bitter, and brilliant tech mastermind.
