The Krewe of Centaur is ready to roll in Shreveport this weekend. But before the floats make it through the streets of Shreveport, the public is invited to come see all of the hard work the Krewe has put into their floats on Friday night.

This Friday is the Krewe of Centaur Float Loading Party, held at the Krewe Den on Aero Drive (its essentially on North Market Street) in Shreveport. Float Loading is a family friendly event, open to the public, and all included in one spot. The Krewe hosts the event, where you can get up close and personal with the floats and Krewe members. You can take pictures with the floats, and maybe even walk away with some specialty throws.

You can expect food trucks, flashing lights, and a fun atmosphere all night. But if you're wanting a little bit more, the Krewe has you covered.

The Krewe of Centaur offers a "Float Loading Lagniappe" ticket for this year's event. Even though Float Loading is free, if you buy this "Lagniappe" ticket, you get the full VIP treatment. That includes early access, a guided tour of the Centaur Den, a trip onto floats, a parade t-shirt, and theme beads. You can get your "Lagniappe" tickets here.

Float Loading is always a blast, and you never know who you will see out there. You might run into royalty, celebrities, and you might even see this year's Grand Marshal at the event.

Make plans to come out Friday and enjoy one of the premiere Mardi Gras events in North Louisiana.

Mr. Mardi Gras' Pictures From the 2024 Krewe of Centaur Bal

He's a Charter Member (Day 1 Member) of the Krewe of Centaur. He's served as King Centaur IX, and he's taken pictures at almost every Centaur event you can think of. Harvey Dillahunty is Shreveport's Mr. Mardi Gras. He took a ton of pictures at the 2024 Krewe of Centaur Bal, and he's shared some of those with us...
