The LSU Women's Basketball program has exploded into a national powerhouse over the last few years. Hall of Fame Head Coach Kim Mulkey arrived in Baton Rouge in 2021, and she started rebuilding the program right away. The team hadn't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2018, and Mulkey took he squad into the big dance in her first season.

Her quick rise with the program included a National Championship in just her second year with the team. That National Championship run included high profile games against Miami (FL), Virginia Tech, and culminated with a massive matchup with transcendent talent Caitlin Clark and her Iowa team. LSU beat Clark and Iowa, with huge storylines surrounding the game getting national attention.

Mulkey has maintained the strength of the program through her uncanny ability to recruit. Both in the traditional manner, and through the ever evolving transfer portal.

One of her biggest recruits to Baton Rouge has been former Parkway High School superstar Mikaylah Williams.

After leaving Bossier City for Baton Rouge, Williams made an instant splash. She became the SEC Freshman of the Year, helped LSU to a #3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and set records along the way.

On top of her historic on-court performance, Williams became only the second woman ever to sign an endorsement deal with the iconic Jordan brand.

Now, Williams will take centerstage in a special LSU Women's Basketball game that feels designed just for her. LSU will take their team on the road to Bossier City, where Williams is from.

LSU will play Grambling State at Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier on Sunday, December 8th.

Under Mulkey, LSU played a similar "homecoming" type game this past season when they took on Copping State in Baltimore, Md. LSU Tigers' legend Angel Reese is from Baltimore, and the game served as a semi-homecoming for her.
