The Shreveport Mudbugs will return to the ice at George's Pond inside the historic Hirsch Coliseum this weekend. They will be looking to wrap up another North American Hockey League (NAHL) South Division championship on home ice.

This weekend, the Mudbugs split a pair of playoff games in the Dallas metroplex against the Lone Star Brahmas. The Brahmas are the top seed in the NAHL South Division, meaning that they came into this matchup with the #2 seed Mudbugs with home ice advantage. But the Brahmas lost that claim to home ice on Friday night, when the Mudbugs went into Texas and won 3-2. Taking game 1 of the series shifted the ability to win on home ice to Shreveport.

While the Mudbugs did lose game 2 on Saturday night (score was also 3-2), they sill need two wins to win the series. Meaning if they win both games in Shreveport this weekend, they will win the series in front of their home fans.

The Mudbugs splitting Texas also means that they are guaranteed two games in Shreveport. With the series being a "best of 5", a team only needs 3 wins for a sweep, which means we would have been guaranteed just 1 game in Shreveport is a team would have got two wins in Texas. But since they split, we know there will be two games in Shreveport this weekend.

Game 3 will be Friday night, with a puck drop at 7:11pm. Game 4 will be Saturday night, and the puck drop will also be at 7:11pm. You can get ticket info for both games right here.
