East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Employee Arrested on Rape Charge
BATON ROUGE, La. - An East Baton Rouge Parish Prison employee has been arrested on a third-degree rape charge, according to local law enforcement and jail records.

Prison Employee Arrested in Baton Rouge
Rashie McDowell, 40, was arrested by the Baton Rouge Police Department this week. Jail records show he was booked on a charge of third-degree rape.

Sheriff’s Office Fires Employee
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said McDowell had worked in its corrections department since 2018. The sheriff's office said McDowell was fired after officials learned about the pending criminal charges.
Baton Rouge Police Investigation Continues
Baton Rouge police have not released additional details about the allegations at this time.
The case remains under investigation.
