Louisiana Get Ready, Chick-fil-A to Debut New Shake August 28th

We love our chicken in Louisiana and while the "go-to" location for when you mention the words "Louisiana" and "chicken" in the same sentence usually brings you to a Popeyes this time we're offering news of that "other chicken place". You know, the one that got into the chicken sandwich war with Popeyes a few summers ago?

Yeah, we're talking about Chick-fil-A the not-ever-open-on- Sunday chicken place that always seems to create traffic trouble where ever they locate. No, we're not dissin' Chick-fil-A over any traffic tie-ups, they're doing their part. Heck, I just took a three-week tour through the drive-thru lane of the newest Chick-fil-A in Lafayette, Louisiana. 

And no, I'm not kidding, I needed a GPS to figure out where the drive-thru lane entrance actually was, but I did find it. Okay, it wasn't that hard, it's clearly marked, and it shows the Chick-fil-A commitment to keeping their customer traffic off of public roadways and on their own parking lot.

But this bit of breaking news from Chick-fil-A is less about chicken and more about beating the heat. The fast food franchise is reportedly ready to release a brand new milkshake nationwide and that shake is set for an August 28th release date.

That's a post from Instagram influencer markie_devo who reportedly has inside knowledge of the Chick-fil-A rollout plan. As you can see, not only are we going to be offered a Caramel Crumble Milkshake but there will be a new chicken sandwich on the menu too. That sandwich is the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich and I will take both in a combo with waffle fries, please and thank you.

In the Instagram, post markie_devo touts the Caramel Crumble Milkshake to be a blend of caramel and butterscotch flavors blended with hand-spun ice cream. The shake is then topped with blondie (brownie) crumbles, whipped cream, and a cherry.

The sandwich is described by the influencer as a chicken filet drizzled with honey. That filet is then topped with pimento cheese. That would be enough for me right there but according to markie_devo the honey drizzled filet that is topped with pimento cheese is then served on a toasted bun with pickled jalapeno peppers. Could someone please just shut the front door? Holy cow er chicken I mean, that sounds tasty.

According to sources this sandwich and shake will be available at participating Chick-fil-A locations on August 28th. As of this report, we can't confirm which locations in Louisiana will be adding the new options but you can bet they'll probably be made available at your favorite Chick-fil-A.
