
Shocking Video of Armed Gunman Outside Louisiana Family’s Front Door
ASCENSION PARISH, La. (KMDL-FM) - An Ascension Parish couple is speaking out after their doorbell camera captured video of several armed suspects attempting to steal a vehicle from their property in the middle of the night.
The terrifying incident has left the homeowners shaken and hoping their story will serve as a warning for others in the community.
Armed Suspects Caught On Camera in Ascension Parish
According to the Thomas family, the attempted theft happened around 2 a.m. Monday while they were asleep inside their home. Multiple suspects reportedly entered the yard and targeted the couple’s 2019 Dodge Charger parked outside.
The couple said they had no idea anything was happening until they heard the sound of their vehicle starting.

Security cameras captured the suspects moving through the property and approaching the car. At least one of the individuals appeared to be armed, making the situation even more alarming for the homeowners.
One suspect, who face was covered, stood guard outside the couple's house while pointing a gun just a few feet outside of the front door.
Homeowners Say They Were 'Really Shaken'
After reviewing the surveillance footage, the couple said the experience left them deeply shaken.
Shanna Thomas, who lives at the home, tells unfilteredwithkiran.com that the moment they realized what had happened was frightening, especially knowing the suspects had weapons.

Although the suspects were able to start the vehicle, the incident ultimately did not end with the car being successfully stolen. The homeowners later shared the footage publicly in hopes it would help identify the individuals involved.

In addition, the couple keeps their grandchildren often. 'He looked like he would have shot if he’d just heard somebody moving around in the house. So I’m like, if (my grandkids) were there, what would have happened?'

Surveillance Video Raises Safety Concerns
The Thomas' say the suspects appeared organized and confident, which added to their concern about how frequently crimes like this could be happening in neighborhoods.
The couple hopes that by speaking out and sharing the video, others in the community will take steps to protect themselves and hopefully help authorities identify the suspects involved.
