LOUISIANA - Political candidate Shelly Headen of North Carolina is facing plenty of criticism after an old social media comment resurfaced, and the controversial statement is getting people talking, especially people in Louisiana and Alabama.

Headen, who is running for the North Carolina House of Representatives in District 62, is facing backlash over a comment in which she reportedly wrote that an attack on U.S. soil was the country's “only hope.”

Hoping for a terrorist attack on U.S. soil is...well, insane. But where she allegedly said it should happen is what caught the attention of everyone in Louisiana and Alabama.

What Did North Carolina Candidate Shelly Headen Say About Louisiana?

According to Carolina Journal, Headen wrote that the United States needed an attack on American soil, describing it as the country's “only hope.” The comment has sparked criticism because, basically she's saying she believes an attack on the United States is the only and best way necessary to bring about change in America.

That's obviously going to get people's attention when the person making the statement is now asking voters for their support...and also because it's insane that someone would say something like this.

Headen didn't just say an attack on U.S. soil was our Nation's only hope for change, she allegedly named where she thought such an attack should take place.

As a resurfaced social media comment from Democratic North Carolina House candidate Shelly Headen, in which she wrote that the country’s 'only hope' was an attack on American soil, is drawing criticism from Republican state lawmakers.

'I think our only hope is an attack on US Soil … preferably Alabama, Louisiana … where the stupid people live,' Headen wrote.

Shelly Kates Headen allegedly actually expressed hope another attack on U.S. soil, and thinks it should happen in Louisiana and Alabama because this is where stupid are.

In an interview with theassemblync.com, when asked about these things she's posted to social media, she said she does recall writing several angry anti-Trump posts.

According to The Assemblync, in other social media posts, Headen has compared to herself to Martin Luther King Jr., Jesus, and Abraham Lincoln for her willingness to put herself on the front lines and sacrifice for our Country.

In response to the recent resurfacing of Headen's disgusting alleged on-line comments, she tells The Assembly "she didn’t remember writing it or whether it was real."
