Texas Lottery Confirms $150,000 Powerball Wins on Wednesday
From Orange, Texas at the Louisiana line to Texline, Texas in the northwestern panhandle of the state Powerball players and fans of the Texas Lottery were looking for a lady last night. No, this wasn't just any lady, this was Lady Luck and she's been a frequent guest in the Lone Star State the past few weeks.
It was just a couple of days ago on Monday night that Lady Luck shared her good fortune with a Texas Powerball player to the tune of $50,000. Would the lady have any luck left over for Wednesday night's Powerball game?
If you missed the drawing, here's how the ping-pong balls bounced.
The life-changing jackpot that was up for grabs in the April,17,2024, Powerball drawing was an estimated $80,700,000. That will buy a lot of Whataburgers anywhere in Texas but alas, there was no ticket sold anywhere across the Powerball footprint that matched the numbers needed to claim the $80.7 million.
Yes, there were big money winners in Texas. In fact, the Texas Lottery has confirmed via our sources that two tickets sold in the state claimed prizes in excess of $10,000. One of those two tickets matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball, the other ticket matched the same sequence but that ticket purchaser opted for the Power Play option.
Here are the numbers drawn on Wednesday:
24 29 44 47 54 Powerball 2 Power Play x2
Before you start wildly screaming and celebrating your newfound fortune please verify those numbers at the Powerball website or the Texas Lottery website. And congratulations to both of the winners. I bet one of those ticket holders is wishing they had spent the extra dollar for Power Play and I bet both ticket holders are waking up wondering "what might have been" if that fifth number on their tickets had matched.
What Is the Powerball Jackpot on Saturday Night?
The Texas Lottery and Powerball game officials have posted the estimated jackpot for Saturday's game at $80 million. That is the annuitized jackpot. The lump sum payout, should you win is $45.8 million. Of course, the taxman will want his share of either of those windfalls should Lady Luck decide to pay a visit to you.
