Kelly Clarkson Sells More CD’s After Ron Paul Endorsement

Earlier this week, it seemed like Kelly Clarkson was in trouble.

Clarkson says she's actually supported Ron Paul since 2008... But this was the first time she shared her political views on Twitter.

Here's what she tweeted: "I love Ron Paul. I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he's got my vote."

That got some of her fans quite upset, so  Clarkson then tweeted out a follow-up, "I am really sorry if I have offended anyone. Obviously that was not my intent."

But, instead of suffering, it looks like Ron Paul supporters have decided to buy her new CD!

According to CNN, sales of her latest album, Stronger, actually went up 442%... from #38 to #7!

Some responses that Clarkson has received include:

and

"The energy of these songs would be great as Ron Paul event background music."
