You can’t really deny prospective appeal of Kristen Stewart playing a gun-wielding, gadget-toting, ass-kicking super detective, which makes today’s potential casting news pretty exciting. Elizabeth Banks and Sony are reportedly eyeing Stewart to play one of the three leads in their upcoming big screen reboot of Charlie’s Angels, but she’s not the only awesome name under consideration.

Sony has begun casting for the new reboot of Charlie’s Angels, based on the classic TV series that centered around three female detectives acting under the direction of a mysterious, unseen agent named Charlie. According to Variety, the studio is hoping to land a trio of big names to play the titular Angels, and they’ve got their sights set on Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong’o — among others.

In recent years, Stewart has distanced herself from the Twilight franchise with challenging roles in acclaimed indies like Still Alice, The Clouds of Sils Maria, and Personal Shopper. The actress is set to star in the upcoming adventure-thriller Underwater, her first major studio project since 2010’s Snow White and the Huntsman. As for Nyong’o, the Oscar-winner has committed to a handful of blockbusters in recent years, including Star Wars. She can be seen next reprising her role as Maz Kanata in The Last Jedi, and appears opposite Chadwick Boseman in Marvel’s Black Panther.

Sony is (obviously) hoping that the Charlie’s Angels reboot will launch a new hit franchise, which would require a potential multi-film commitment from its leading ladies. The original series ran from 1976 to 1981 and inspired a big screen reboot in 2000. Directed by McG, the Charlie’s Angels movie starred Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz, and was followed by a sequel, Full Throttle, in 2003.

Elizabeth Banks is directing the new reboot, which is set to arrive in theaters in 2019.
