2020 has taken another awesome football game away from us. The Louisiana Tech vs. UL-Monroe football game scheduled for November 21st at Independence Stadium in Shreveport has been canceled.

The game is being called off due to COVID-19 related issues in the UL-Monroe Warhawks football program. In a release today, ULM Athletic Director Scott McDonald said:

"We're extremely disappointed to announce the cancellation of this much anticipated game. Two rounds of COVID-19 tests following the team's road trip to Georgia State required the isolation and quarantine of some student-athletes, coaches and administrators. Following the CDC and Sun Belt Conference protocols for positive tests and subsequent contact tracing, it is clear that our student-athletes and coaches don't have adequate time to safely prepare for Saturday's game."

UL-Monroe is coming off a postponed game against Arkansas State, while Louisiana Tech just had to postpone their game against Rice. Louisiana Tech has already had to postpone games this year, including their game against North Texas that has been rescheduled for December 5th.

Currently, Tech is 4-3 on the season, and ULM is 0-8 on the season.

As of right now, Louisiana Tech's next game is going to be Florida International on November 28th, and UL-Monroe is set to play UL-Lafayette on that same date. There is no word on if the recent COVID-19 related postponements will impact either of those games.
