LaVar Ball Refuses To Thank President Trump For Helping His Son In China During CNN Interview
It has been a war of egos between President Donald Trump and LaVar Ball, and based on this CNN interview, the exchange may be far from over.
LaVar Ball sat down with CNN's Chris Cuomo to discuss the critical tweets from President Donald Trump in the wake of Ball's son, LiAngelo, being arrested for shoplifting in China.
Ball believes Trump inserted himself into the situation and should have "better things to worry about," questioning the president's role in the overall situation surrounding his son and other UCLA basketball teammates being arrested in China (Nov. 7) for shoplifting.
Ball continuously declined to offer thanks to the president and says he doesn't "have to go around saying thank you to everybody." He did suggest that a plane ride from Trump on Air Force One may have changed his mind.
This entire interview is a mess, but if there is one shred of credible fact checking, it may come from a report from ESPN's Arash Markazi. Jeff Eisenberg tweeted about a part of that story that actually supported Ball's point.
Will this war of (tweeted) words continue? Unfortunately, it looks like there is no end in sight.
