Imagine splitting from your spouse; beginning a new relationship, and shacking up with your partner only to find out your ex is moving next door. Sounds like a nightmare, right? Unfortunately for Miley Cyrus, that nightmare is a reality.

As Daily Mail reports, the pop star's estranged husband Liam Hemsworth is currently rebuilding the $6.8 million Malibu home the couple used to live in together after it was destroyed in the devastating Malibu fires last year. That house just happens to be next door from a ranch the "Slide Away" singer is currently living in with her new boyfriend Cody Simpson, who reportedly moved in earlier this month.

Though it is unclear if the actor plans to move back into the sprawling estate full-time after its renovation, it's still gotta be awkward for Cyrus to pass by and see him doing construction work on the home they used to share.

Hemsworth has owned the house since 2014, and Cyrus bought the neighboring ranch two years later for $2.5 million. The two announced their split in August, less than a year after getting married, and Hemsworth filed for divorce later that month. Since their breakup, the 26-year-old was briefly linked to Kaitlynn Carter before beginning her relationship with her current beau. Meanwhile, Hemsworth is thought to be dating actress Maddison Brown.
