Watch a local chef compete in the finale of Food Network's Great Food Truck Race this Sunday.

This Sunday the Great Food Truck Race on Food Network comes to an end. The winner will either be NOLA Creations or their competitor, Brunch Babes. We all have a chance to celebrate our home team and watch the finale together on Sunday, July 28 at Cascio's Market Bistro.

And $50,000 is on the line.

According to the Shreveport Times, NOLA Creations is owned by Chef Darrell Johnson, who is a classically trained chef originally from New Orleans. He is the former owner of Crescent City Bistro in Shreveport Bossier. The crew that has been competing along side him since the season began on June 9 is his wife, Aunna, and Chef Terrell Gaskin.

The Great Food Truck Race pits nine food trucks against one another. Week after week, teams must compete in various challenges and stay atop the leader board with the most sales. Each week, the team at the bottom of the board is eliminated. This season the competition headed to Florida with stops up and down the coast.

The watch party will be Sunday, July 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Cascio's Market Bistro.

Guests will enjoy dishes prepared by NOLA Creations. These will be the same dishes that have carried the food truck into the finale, like Cajun skewers, jambalaya, white chocolate beignets, barbecue shrimp, and burgers. Food will be available for purchase with cash only.

Chef Darrell Johnson is no stranger to Food Network. He previously competed on Cutthroat Kitchen. The network and Great Food Truck Race host Tyler Florence is no stranger to Shreveport-Bossier either. Another one of his shows, Food Court Wars, shot an episode at Pierre Bossier Mall.
