Earlier this year, Bossier City resident David Louis Whitehead filed a $10 Billion lawsuit against Marvel, Walt Disney, Netflix, and Viacom alleging that they stole his movie idea and turned it into the film "Black Panther". When the news of the lawsuit broke, it became one of the biggest stories of the summer.

Whitehead alleges that Marvel stole his concept from a script called "Batman Blackman" and used it to create their 2018 mega-blockbuster "Black Panther". In the lawsuit, Whitehead also intended to name CBS, Comcast, Sony, Lionsgate, and others as defendants.

Whitehead is a Political Science & Public Administration lecturer at Grambling State University, and will be coming to speak in Shreveport this week. He is scheduled to speak at Centenary College on Thursday, October 3rd. Here's the release from the school:

"Professor David Louis Whitehead, currently a lecturer in political science and public administration at Grambling State University, will visit Centenary on Thursday, October 3, to deliver a talk entitled “The Constitution and Civil Rights: From Crispus Attucks to the Present Day.” The 11:10 a.m. event in Centenary’s Whited Room is free and open to the public."
