Only 2 area Walmarts still have 24/7 operations. The Walmart on East Bert Kouns and the Bossier City Walmart will remain open all hours.

The Pines Road Walmart made the change several months ago. Now we have learned the Shreve City Walmart and the store on Mansfield Road are also closed during the graveyard shift.

A spokesman from Walmart says the company is changing the hours at dozens of stores across the nation. These stores will no longer be open from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.

A company executive says the change was made to make sure employees are working when and where they are needed the most. The retail giant's stats show most customers shop between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The company is not eliminating jobs. Instead, workers' hours are being adjusted.
