After weeks of the Life Tabernacle Church in Central, Louisiana breaking Governor John Bel Edwards emergency laws to combat the COVID-19 outbreak in the state, WAFB is reporting the church's leader has been charged with multiple counts of breaking that law.

Tony Spell, the leader of the Life Tabernacle Church, violated the first version of the Governor's emergency laws that limited groups to 50. Since the laws were lowered to 10, the church increased their efforts. With multiple weeks of more than 1,000 people at services.

The reports of Spell's charges are being met with praise across the state. The WAFB report says Spell is facing six counts of violating Louisiana law. Here's more from their report:

"On Tuesday, March 31, Chief Roger Corcoran with Central Police Department issued Mark Anthony Spell, (Aka: Tony Spell), Pastor of Life Tabernacle Church in Central, a Misdemeanor Summons for six counts of violating the governor’s executive order (LA R.S. 29:724E) following his decision to host multiple large gatherings."

Spell even went on National TV to celebrate their breaking of the law.
