Late last month, $1,000 worth of crawfish was stolen from Capital City Crawfish in Baton Rouge.  According to Myarklamiss.com, security cameras captured 51 year old Christopher Manuel stealing bags of Louisiana red gold along with two ice chests, a snowball machine and tools during a burglary on December 30th.

Now, both Manuel and 65 year-old Stephen Houk are facing simple burglary charges after their arrest this weekend.  After being taken into custody by deputies from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, Houk admitted to his part in the crime, but only Manuel (who denied any involvement) was allegedly caught on camera.  He is therefore facing an extra burglary count.

Investigators estimate the pilfered crawfish's value around $1000, with the entire value of the stolen merchandise close to $4,000.
