A Louisiana State Police Officer is in hot water after his alleged illegal activity while attending a work conference in Rapid City, South Dakota.

In a news article from blackhillsfox.com, we have learned that Louisiana State Trooper Kirk John Thibodeaux, 44 of Port Allen, was arrested on a charge of "hiring for sexual activity" which is a Class 1 misdemeanor.

If the trooper is found guilty of the crime, Thibodeaux is looking at the possibility of jail time, probation or fine.

It's Alleged This Happened While He Was In Town At A Work-Related Conference

A release from the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office indicates that the incident took place while Thibodeaux was in Rapid City for a work-related conference at an unspecified hotel, on Tuesday, September 20 and that police learned of the illegal activity around 3:00 am Wednesday morning.

The article also shows Thibodeaux to be a twenty year veteran of the Louisiana State Police, having joined the force in 2002 and is currently serving as a lieutenant assigned to the Transportation Safety Services/Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section.

The State Trooper Has Been Placed On Administrative Leave

According to WAFB in Baton Rouge, Thibodeaux has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal and administrative investigation.
