Two baseball powerhouses clash tonight at the College World Series in Omaha when LSU meets Oregon State. The Beavers have won 22 games in a row, while the Tigers boast a 17 game winning streak.

Oregon State is 55-4 on the season, 14-1 in one-run games. But the Beavers best pitcher is not at the College World Series. Luke Heimlich made the decision not to travel to Omaha, after it was revealed he's a registered sex offender. A newspaper in Oregon made it public that Heimlich pleaded guilty to molesting a young child when he was a teenager.

Heimlich issue this statement:

For the past 6 years I've done everything in my power to demonstrate that I'm someone my family and my community can be proud of, and show the one person who has suffered the most that I am committed to living a life of integrity.

OSU will send sophomore right-hander Bryce Fehmel to the hill. He's 5-2 on the year with a 3.80 ERA.

LSU will start freshman right-hander Eric Walker, who is 8-1 with a 3.46 ERA. Walker pitched very well the last two times out, but did not pitch in the Super Regionals.

Oregon State has six players in their lineup hitting .300 or better led by Nick Madrigal, who is hitting .385, 4 home runs and 37 RBIs. He's only struck out 15 times. KJ Harrison is there big home run hitter with 8 bombs.

While the Beavers have an impressive win-loss record, their strength of schedule ranks 81st in the country according to warrenolan.com. First pitch is at 6 PM tonight. You can hear the game on 1130 The Tiger.
