I had heard that "the burgers at McCoy's are worth the drive" so one day I decided to make the drive and let me tell you it wasn't just the burgers that made me fall in love with McCoy's, their mac and cheese and the banana pudding were scrumptious.

McCoy's Butcher Block has been a community favorite since they opened and after 7 years they will be closing their doors.

Brandon the owner of McCoy's Butcher Block took to Facebook to break the devastating news. So far the post has garnered hundreds of comments from residents who are crushed to see the burger joint go.

Why Did McCoy's Butcher Block Decide to Close Their Doors?

The owner cited the rising cost of food and the drastic change in the economy. We have heard from several business owners and how they have had to raise prices in order to keep up with inflation, however, this is one of the first businesses in the Ark-La-Tex to blame inflation for having to call it quits.

Here is what the Facebook post said:

"After a lot of praying, I have made the very tough decision to close McCoys, didn’t think this day would come. I was told in the beginning if we made it past the 3-year hump with a restaurant we would make it, that was way before the drastic change in our economy and the food cost doubling in a year . 7 years later it’s time to move on to something different.. I am so very thankful for all the friends I have made here, all the customers that we have had and the support that helped us make McCoys what it is… Thank you all!!! Brandon"
