Youth sports are crucial for kids development.  Not all kids are involved in football, soccer, baseball, and the like - but those that do learn a great deal about teamwork, fairness, and camaraderie.  The Shreveport Warrior youth football team got a few extra lessons to go with those 3 - specifically loss and charity.

Last month, the Warriors' trailer containing all of their training and game day gear was stolen.  From that point on, the proud team was unable to hold a full practice until they replaced about $6,000 in equipment.  In a stroke of luck, the trailer was found on July 26th and the person responsible for theft was arrested.  Unfortunately, only half of the equipment was recovered - and it was totally ruined!

A GoFundMe page has been set up in order to raise the necessary funds.  As thankful as the team was for each and every donated dime, it was going to be a long process.  Now, a miracle donation has drastically sped up the process.  According to KSLA, Academy Sports + Outdoors has pledged $5,000 worth of equipment to help the Warriors get back to the business of winning football games!  Coupled with the $2,000+ that the GoFundMe account has raised - the team has now surpassed their goal!
