Movie Theater Reopening in SBC Delayed
Earlier this month, we got the news that Tinseltown theater in southeast Shreveport would reopen on July 3rd. We also found that the Regal theater at the Boardwalk in Bossier would be back open on July 10th. But that is changing.
Regal Cinemas has posted a message online saying they will reopen on Friday July 31st.
The reopening plan at Regal includes "a wide range of new health and safety measures based on guidelines provided from the CDC and other public health organizations. The plan also includes safety measures based on feedback received from employees and moviegoers they have deemed most important for their return.
Each theater will also sanitize high-contact areas quite often throughout the day.
According to CNBC, Cinemark will reopen its theaters on July 17th.
AMC theaters is planning to reopen theaters on July 30th. There are no AMC theaters in the Shreveport Bossier area.
These posts were put up earlier in June, but things have obviously changed.
This is the post from the theater's website:
With careful planning and greatly enhanced safety measures, we are excited to begin the phased reopening of our theaters. We can't wait to have you back with us. As we begin thoughtfully reopening theaters, the health and well-being of our guests, employees and communities is a top priority. You will notice greatly enhanced cleanliness, sanitizing and safety measures at every step of your movie-going experience.
Regal Cinemas is planning to reopening movie theaters across the country on July 10th.
The company posted this message to customers:
We are working to get all of our theaters back open across the country by July 10th.
We are thrilled to be back and encouraged by recent surveys that show that many people have missed going to the movie theater," CEO Mooky Greidinger said in a statement.
