HB 632, the gas tax increase bill that has been having the entire state talking has been pushed aside due to the lack of votes required to pass on to the House floor, according to news sources.

Since the increase on taxes was supposed to go towards creating better roads here in Louisiana, What happens next?

Will we hear about this again? The answer is most likely yes. In fact, Ken Naquin, Chief Executive Officer, stated in an email to Louisiana Association of General Contractors Highway Division Members, "Whenever sales tax is on the table for discussion, we have to be positioned to put infrastructure in that discussion. If sales tax are to remain, if they are to be amended, if they are to be repealed, then infrastructure has to get part of that revenue source."
