Shreveport, Lafayette Baton Rouge and Houma-Thibodaux dioceses are also planning to release lists of names, but we have no timetable for the release date at this point.

The list of names is expected to include names of priests credibly accused of abuse minors.

Former Shreveport Bishop Michael Duca is now the Bishop in Baton Rouge.

Father Peter Magnum, the Shreveport diocese’s administrator, invited Catholics to join him in fasting and “intensified prayer” from Nov. 5-11 for the victims of priest sex abuse and for the church leaders who have to handle the crisis.

Father Peter writes:

The intentions for this period of prayer and sacrifice are three-fold:

• For the healing and support of all victims of clergy sexual abuse.

• For the conversion and just punishment of the perpetrators and concealers of sexual abuse.

• For the strength of the bishops to be holy shepherds in protecting and leading our sheep from all harm.

"If you feel called to do so, you are welcome to join me in praying for these intentions"

So far, nearly 50 dioceses from across the nation have released the names of clergy who have been credibly accused of sexual abuse involving minors.
