Officer Injured In Trump Motorcade Crash Released From Hospital
A Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Deputy is resting and recovering at his home this morning. This following his release from the hospital last Friday. Officials in Calcasieu Parish say that Sr. Cpl. Jason Hayes was being treated for injuries he suffered in a motorcycle crash while supporting President Trump's motorcade last Tuesday.
Sr. Cpl. Roy Jones Jr., also a Sheriff’s deputy, and Capt. Matt Cheaney were also involved in the crash that happened this past Tuesday on I-210 in Lake Charles. Those two officers were treated and released following the crash.
The three officers were part of an escort for the President's motorcade as it headed toward Cameron Parish. The President was in town to tour an LNG facility in Cameron Parish when the crash occurred.
