There sure were a lot of spirited discussions on social media and in "real life" over the big LSU-Alabama game this past weekend. Most of these conversations didn't end up in gunfire.

An Oregon man, though, apparently gave things the old "hold my beer" treatment.

51-year-old Christopher Honey of Bend, Oregon was booked into the Deschutes County Jail on Saturday after he shot another man following an argument over the LSU-Alabama game.

Honey was booked with Attempted Murder, Assault II, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Menacing. He also had an outstanding warrant for DUI and Criminal Driving while Suspended.

He's accused of shooting a 40-year-old Maine man in the back of the head during an argument about Saturday's big game. Once deputies arrived at the home, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the back of his head and neck area. He was transported to a nearby hospital for what is being described as "non-life threatening injuries."

Detectives learned the men were at the home watching the game when they got into a verbal argument which turned into a physical argument. Honey allegedly got a shotgun loaded with a birdshot shell and shot the other man in the head as the victim was walking away.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.
