For me, Christmas is a time of reflection as well as a time of great joy! After all, Christmas isn't about material gifts under the tree, it's about our Father's gift, the celebration of the birth of Jesus, who died on the cross and rose from the dead, paying the price for our sins.

If you're drawn to reflection this time of year as I am, here are some of my favorite scriptures to meditate on.

  • 1

    Matthew 1:21

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

  • 2

    John 3:16

  • 3

Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.

  • 4

    Proverbs 17:22

A merry heart does good like medicine.

  • 5

    Matthew 1:23

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

  • 6

    John 1:14

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

  • 7

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
