Labor Day weekend 2018 is here and there's plenty of fun stuff to get into if you're staying in town to rest and relax... and best of all, not work for three long, fun-filled days!
Super Derby 39 is this Sunday and the Super Derby is Harrah's Louisiana Downs biggest race of the year and this time it'll feature 9 of the best 3-year-olds from across the country in a $300,000 stakes race. The first race will run Sunday at 12pm and post time for Super Derby 39 is 3pm. Festivities will take place throughout the day including meet and greets with the jockeys, food trucks, a children's area, a hat contest and more!
Tracy Lawrence, the 'Keeper of the Stars,' is bringing his show to DiamondJacks Friday night in Bossier City! Show time is 8pm for this 21+ event with tickets starting at $45.
The 4th Annual Red River Margarita Pour Off is coming to Shreveport's Festival Plaza downtown Saturday from 12pm-7pm. General access tickets start at $15. Additional margarita sampling and alcohol coupons are sold separately for $2 each. Must be 21 to sample alcoholic beverages.
The Power Boat Nationals are returning to the Red River this Saturday and Sunday and racing begins both days at 12pm. Entertainment will be available on both sides of the river with live music starting at 7pm.
This has been one of my favorite events for years! Ever Labor Day at Harrah's Louisiana Downs they host the 'Wiener Dog Races!' The fun starts at 11am with the first race at 12pm.
The Molly Ringwalds are back Friday night at Margaritaville Resort Casino! They're playing the Paradise Theater for a 21+ show starting at 9pm. Tickets are just $15.
The 16th Annual K-9 Search and Rescue Benefit Horse Shows are this Saturday and Sunday at Holly Hill Equestrian Center in Benton, LA. Saturday will feature a hunter/jumper horse show and Sunday will feature a dressage and combined test show. Both days will feature demonstrations by the heroes and their partners, great food, tack shops and more!
The LSU Golden Band from Tiger Land will be in Bossier City Saturday for a rehearsal before heading to Dallas for Sunday’s game against #8 Miami at AT&T Stadium at 6:30pm on ABC. The rehearsal is open to the public from 12-3pm at Parkway High School’s Preston Crownover Stadium on Panther Drive. Concessions will be open.
Join our Shreveport Mudbugs Friday and Saturday nights at 7:11pm for exhibition games at George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum as they take on the Springfield Jr. Blues. Tickets are just $10.
