Pete Davidson Returns to ‘Saturday Night Live’ and Reveals the Reasoning for His Absence
Pete Davidson made his return to Saturday Night Live on Saturday, October 12. During the show, Davidson joked about the reason he was not in the first two episodes of the season.
Stranger Things actor David Harbour made his Saturday Night Live hosting debut, while bringing out all of the Stranger Things references. During his monologue, Harbour gave viewers a tour of the famous Studio 8H. The studio ended up having a portal to the Upside Down, to which Harbour entered.
Once he entered the other realm, he found SNL cast members along his way trapped in different situations, Beck Bennett was even devoured by a Demogorgon. Though the most prevalent find was Davidson, who was in a hallway playing with some vines.
"Pete Davidson? Is this where you've been? In the Upside Down?" Harbour questioned. "Yeah dude, it's lit, right?" Davidson replied, while a real live alpaca appeared behind him.
Davidson then asked him if his character actually died at the ending of Netflix's popular show. "Just watch the show. You'll find out next season," Harbour stammered.
The actual reason Davidson was not present for the first two episodes of the season is because he is working on the new comic book adaptation of The Suicide Squad, which films in Atlanta. During the season premiere episode, Davidson attended a screening for The Joker with his co-stars.
Saturday Night Live airs live on Saturdays at 11:30 PM ET on NBC.
