Pink Triumphs at Atlantic City Beach Concert: Photos

Pink made a triumphant return to the stage in New Jersey on Wednesday night (Jul. 12), dazzling an audience at a sold out Atlantic City beach concert. How many people can say they sold out a beach?

The fans were literally pouring themselves onto the beach property — with nowhere to run, even if you wanted to.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, over “44,000 people attended the Pink concert on Wednesday, in addition to 5,000 people on the Boardwalk and beach by the time she took the stage.”

The “Who Knew? singer split the stage with a DJ opener and alt-rock supergroup, Dreamcar, featuring the boys of No Doubt (minus Gwen Stefani) and AFI singer, Davey Havok. Introducing themselves to the crowd, they began with their increasingly popular hit “Kill For Candy,” as well as “After I Confessed,” which easily won over the crowd — and not just because the 3/4 of the band is made up of No Doubt. After roaring through an entire set, the abrupt end to their part of the show set the stage for Pink.

Pink is known to be quite the acrobat, and as tempted as she might have been, there was some speculation that she was going to make her entrance to the stage with a helicopter. However, her presence on stage alone was more than enough to get the party started for the half-mile stretch of people, as she arrived through a lift at the front of her catwalk. Dancers rushed the stage, while she frolicked to “Get This Party Started” amid a full dance routine with her band. She belted out more of her hits, including “U + UR Hand,” “Just Like a Pill” and “Try” before thanking her fans for coming out to her only East Coast performance this year (thus far).

Proving she is still very much a rock star, No Doubt and Dreamcar bassist Tony Kanal reappeared on stage to jam to some No Doubt classics, “Funhouse” and “Just A Girl” before slowing the show to an acoustic set. With some covers of Kris Kristofferson, Joan Baez, and Bishop Briggs, she concluded her beach-fest show with “Raise Your Glass.”
