Preteen Students Allegedly Stripped Searched After Acting Hyper
Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin reports that four, 12-year-old girls from East Middle School in Binghamton New York were stripped searched for drugs. The Progressive Leaders Of Tomorrow say according to a letter written by the principle, the reason for the search came after administrators became suspicious of the girls “appearing hyper and giddy during their lunch hour.” Three of the students were searched down to their underwear, and after the forth refused to remove her clothing she was given- In School Suspension. The parents of the young girls did not consent to the searches.
According to Yahoo, the school released a statement saying "A student may, under current law and policy, be searched in a school building by an administrator when the administrator reasonably suspects that a student’s health is in danger or is in possession of a substance that may harm themselves or others." The school so far hasn't said if any of the staff involved have been suspended or disciplined.
