Pro Wrestling Legend Dustin Rhodes Added To Geek’d Con
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is set to return August 19th-21st at the Shreveport Convention Center. The 2022 Geek'd Con will be the 7th show in Downtown Shreveport since 2015.
The guests for 2022 already include sci-fi megastar Natasha Henstridge, along with legendary actor Clint Howard, "Peacemaker" star Steve Agee, horror icon John Kassir, Twin Peaks star Sherilyn Fenn, and AEW stars Darby Allin, and Danhausen.
Now we know that Pro Wrestling legend Dustin Rhodes is coming to Geek'd Con this summer!
Over his career, Rhodes has been a part of WCW, WWF/E, and currently AEW.
During his run between the three promotions, he's won a combined 23 championships. He headlined multiple pay-per-view events for both WCW and WWF during his career. As he was enjoying one of his most notable runs, he won the WWF Intercontinental Championship 3 times under the name/character Goldust.
As a main-event player in the Attitude Era of the late 1990s, Rhodes headlined multiple pay-per-view events, including a casket match against The Undertaker (which Rhodes won), as well as teaming up with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, and the Legion of Doom to take on The Hart Foundation.
During that Attitude Era stretch, he also challenged for the Heavyweight Championship (including a main event Raw match against Stone Cold for the title) multiple times. Including a feud with Shawn Michaels.
Recently, Rhodes has been a staple of AEW. He serves as one of the lead coaches for the promotion, and has also had some of the most iconic matches in the promotions history. Including one of the greatest matches in promotion history against his brother Cody at Double or Nothing in 2019.
He's been a part of multiple PPV events with AEW, and was recently in the Interim TNT Championship match earlier this year.
