Spend the day with your pup and help out a great cause at the same time.

This Saturday (October 8) Betty Virginia Park will be flooded with pups from all over Shreveport-Bossier. It's Paws for Celebration presented by Project Celebration to help spread awareness about domestic violence. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

It's happening at Betty Virginia Park from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Bring your dog out in costume for the Halloween costume contest, a pet/owner look-alike contest, a "Smooch Your Pooch" kissing booth, and more. There will also be over 30 local rescues and vendors on site. So if you don't have a furever friend of your own, you can certainly adopt one. There will also be a special dog appearance from Braveheart, who's rescue story we followed just a few years ago.

Plus, the weather is supposed to be perfect this weekend so add this to your calendar!
