If You See A Purple Parking Space, This Is What It Means [VIDEO]

If you ever see a purple parking spot, this is what you need to know before pulling into it.

Of course you know blue parking spots are reserved for disabled citizens, but what does it mean when you see a purple one?

Many communities have designated these spots for soldiers who have earned Purple Hearts—military decoration awarded in the name of the President to those wounded or killed while serving.

The city of Warren, Ohio launched the initiative to "give veterans the respect and privilege they deserve." More and more communities jumped on the mission, and though I haven't personally seen any, I have heard that these spots do exist here in Lafayette at BJ's BrewHouse on Ambassador Caffery.

The spots aren't mandatory, but citizens of Ohio proposed making the purple parking spots mandatory at government buildings. Many feel like these spaces are the least communities can collectively do say "thank you" to our veterans.
