One of our fearless leaders at Townsquare Media lost her Doodle. Elvis was a cute poodle packed with personality, he lived a very long and spoiled life. As all dogs should right? After finding out Elvis the Doodle has passed away I brainstormed on what I could do to let his dog mom know I was thinking of her. Should I send her flowers? Should I send her chocolate covered strawberries? Why not do something that could help other pets in Shreveport/Bossier?

My dog and I took a trip to our favorite pet store and bought almost 200 pounds worth of dog food, puppy food, and small dog food. Trying to load 50-pound dog food bags into my car wasn't as easy as I anticipated and my dog Olive was no help whatsoever. I loaded up the dog food and called the crew at Landers who are currently trying to fill a jeep with dog food, dog beds, dog toys, and anything that a homeless dog would need. The donations will go towards Nova's Heart an amazing organization that aims to give a helping hand to the pets in crisis and support local rescues in need. Nova's Heart is always making sure you can vaccinate your pets at a low cost. We love their mission. We made a donation on behalf of Elvis Janes the sassy Doodle. They still need a few items to fill the Jeep so feel free to buy a little extra dog food next time you go buy your pet's food so you can help a great cause. How do you choose to remember your family pets?
