It's going to be another great weekend here in the ArkLaTex, with plenty to do as always. I have one of the busiest Saturdays in quite a while and I'm looking forward to meeting a bunch of loyal 96.5 KVKI listeners at all three of my Saturday destinations.

I'm starting off my day at the Bossier Chamber of Commerce's Tie 'N Up Business 5K and 10K run. It kicks off Saturday morning at 8 at Christus Schumpert Health Center on Viking Drive in Bossier. My brother Hal, his wife Susan and I will be taking part in the 5K race...she should beat us both.

Later in the day it's off to Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport for the Gumbo Gladiators cooking competition to benefit Volunteers for Youth Justice. Four of the competitors - Tommy Meaux, Bruce Koury, Kelly Killian and Alice Patten - were winners in our on-air gumbo competition earlier this week. Everything gets underway about 11am...the smell of the simmering gumbo should carry all the way to the Texas line.

I'm wrapping up the day Saturday evening back in Bossier at Boomtown Casino as a judge at ARTini, benefiting The Bossier Arts Council. It's a martini tasting and competition featuring 11 of the area's top restaurants. ARTini starts at 7pm and will wrap up about the time my taxi cab arrives to take me home.

Three fun stops in about 12 hours! No doubt it's going to be a Saturday to remember, and I hope I see you at one, two or even all three of these fabulous events! See you Saturday!
