Rose McGowan Slams Justin Timberlake for ‘Fake’ Time’s Up Support
Rose McGowan didn't hold back during her appearance on The View Tuesday morning (January 30). The actress called out Justin Timberlake for supporting the Time's Up movement despite starring in one of Woody Allen's movies last year.
“Then there’s Justin Timberlake hashtagging ‘my wife looks hot tonight #TimesUp,’” McGowan said, referring to an Instagram photo JT posted on Golden Globes night with wife Jessica Biel. She then expressed that a more more realistic hashtag would have been “#IJustDidAMovieWithWoodyAllen.”
"So come on, it is fake," McGowan continued. "I wish everybody were good. I’m sorry to puncture your heroes but sometimes these heroes need to be better."
Timberlake was the lead in 2017’s Wonder Wheel, directed by Allen, even though allegations from Allen's stepdaughter Dylan Farrow that the director molested her when she was a child had come to light.
McGowan has been an outspoken critic of sexual assault in Hollywood since her rape allegations against producer Harvey Weinstein came out in October. She was one of several stars, including Taylor Swift, to don the cover of TIME's annual Person of the Year issue for their work as "Silence Breakers."
