Schools To Be Closed For Sporting Event – Should They? [POLL]

Red River Parish Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, March 3rd, as the Lady Bulldogs travel to Hammond, Louisiana to play in the Semi-Finals Round in the basketball play-offs.

Here in Louisiana we LOVE our sports...football, basketball, baseball, soccer, etc. And that got me to wondering...with all of the budget deficit and turmoil that our state is experiencing right now, especially with education being a key concern, is it a good idea to close schools for a sporting event? Mind you, because we love our sports, this is not the first time in the Ark-La-Tex that schools have been closed for sporting events.

With that said, we pose this question...
