Early last week, California became the very first state to ban commercial breeding for dogs, cats, and rabbits, according to Good News Network. This is to combat against puppy mills that breed dogs and many other animals in inhuman conditions.

What I love most about this story is that along with the ban of commercial breeding they are also banning animal stores that work with puppy mills. This will make pet stores partner with animal shelters, human societies, and rescue groups.

This is absolutely awesome. I have always stood with the motto "Adopt, Don't Shop" and this will help people to do just that. Now the next big thing is for this to spread. Honestly, I would love to see the folks here to take notice of what California is doing and attempt to do the same here in Louisiana.
