In case you didn't know, the Seratones are absolutely amazing! The Shreveport band formed in 2013 and has since taken the musical world by storm. At first, they won the Louisiana Music Prize in Shreveport. Then they signed a record deal with Fat Possum Records out of Oxford, MS. Then they were a featured band on NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts (which has featured everyone from Chris Stapleton to Leon Bridges to Adele).

Today, the band has a slightly adjusted line-up, a new record in the works and is poised for world domination. If you don't believe me, Rolling Stone just named the Seratones as one of the Top 30 bands to perform at SXSW. For those that don't know, SXSW is a huge multi-media festival in Austin, Texas that generally features 100s of bands ranging from unknown to superstar status. So, to be named Top 30 by one the world's foremost authority on music...kind of a big damn deal. Especially when they are listed ahead of MAVIS STAPLES!

Here's what Rolling Stone published about our little band:

Being fierce sounded fun when the Seratones hit the outdoor stage at Mohawk on Friday night, thanks in large part to the full-bodied attitude of singer and guitarist A.J. Haynes. Playacting with coos and shrieks as she dipped and dived around stage (and even climbed over the side of it), Haynes got a mischievous thrill from telling off the “Sad Boys” and just plain had fun with her band’s throttling mix of punk and Louisiana soul, letting out yips of joy between her often-roaring vocals. When the whirl of noise came to a pause, she even improvised an acappella cover of Nina Simone.

The Seratones are nothing short of amazing. If you don't know them, you should. They are proudly reminding the world that Shreveport has some of the best musical talent in the universe!
