Shreveport Police detectives investigating an alleged kidnapping and rape now believe the suspect responsible for that crime may have attacked another victim late last month.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on June 2, 2011, an adult female called authorities and reported she had been abducted and raped. The victim advised officers that just after 4:00 a.m. she had stopped at a convenience store in the 300 block of West 70th Street when she was approached by a male suspect who produced a handgun and entered her vehicle through the passenger door.

The suspect made the victim to drive to a secluded area nearby where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect then ordered the victim drive to an ATM machine at a bank in the 300 block of East 70th Street and forced her to withdraw an amount of cash.  The victim then drove the suspect, at his request, to the intersection of West 71st Street and Linwood Avenue where he abandoned her car and fled on foot. The victim did suffer what have been described as non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Based on information gathered during the course of their inquiry, investigators think that same male suspect is responsible for accosting another woman in the same general area. At approximately 3:45 a.m. on May 27, 2011, an adult female victim was walking in the 400 block of West 74th Street when a man grabbed her and put a gun to her head. The suspect allegedly threw the victim into a ditch where he attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to fend off her attacker and the suspect ultimately fled the scene of the crime on foot.

Detectives need your help in identifying and apprehending this suspect.  He is now described as a black male with “bulging” eyes in his early thirties, dark complexioned, approximately five feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds with what has been described as a short hair cut.  He is reported to be missing some of his front teeth. He may be armed with a gray handgun as well.
