State Representative Thomas Pressly says:

The senseless act of violence that took the life of an innocent child this afternoon in Shreveport is the epitome of tragic and completely unacceptable. Let this be the loudest of wake up calls to all our public officials, community leaders, and citizens to come together to truly address the crime plaguing our city. I pledge to take whatever means necessary in working with law enforcement, community leaders, and elected officials on all levels to help end these senseless acts of violence. Maggie and I offer our deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of the innocent child.
Shreveport City Councilwoman LeVette Fuller says:
Our community keeps finding ways to fail our children. I’m just so so sorry to watch another family experience the grief of having a child stolen by violence in this city. We should all be devastated. We should all be devastated every time it happens. We should be devastated enough to stop it.

Shreveport Police continue to investigate this tragic shooting and urge anyone with information to contact them.
