Shreveport Hosts Regional Transportation Meeting

The Northwest Louisiana Economic Partnership and Northwest Louisiana Council of Governments will host a regional meeting of the Governor's Task Force on Transportation Infrastructure Investment.

The task force's co-chairmen, DOTD Secretary Shawn Wilson and General John Basilica, along with other task force members and community leaders will be in attendance.

The task force was created in June and charged with issuing recommendations to the governor on transportation infrastructure improvements to be considered for legislation during the 2017 regular legislative session.

According to a DOTD news release, the duties of the task force include "researching, identifying and making specific actionable recommendations for achieving sufficient increased levels of recurring funding to address multi-modal transportation needs in Louisiana."

The meeting will be held Monday, September 12, at 9 a.m. at BHP Billiton, located at 1000 E. Preston Ave. in Shreveport.
