It's back to school time in the Ark-La-Tex. Moms, are you ready? Which category do you fall into?

I'll be honest, I've always been that kid and later the step-parent that loved back-to-school shopping. It's the excitement of a new year, the power of possibility, and new beginnings. And most importantly, new clothes and school supplies. There's just something about a new notebook or binder that hasn't been through the wringer yet. Plus, I have a thing for school supplies!

A few things before we get to the '5 Types of Moms You'll See During Back to School in Shreveport.' Here are the official back-to-school dates for our area.

Bossier Parish: First day - Wednesday, August 10th for grades 1-12, Wednesday, August 17th for kindergarten, and Wednesday, August 24th for pre-kindergarten
Caddo Parish: First day - Wednesday, August 3rd for elementary and middle school and Wednesday, August 10th for high school
DeSoto Parish: First day - Thursday, August 4th
Webster Parish: First day - Thursday, August 4th

And just in case you've been blessed with a little extra, the United Way of Northwest Louisiana is 'Filling the Bus' again for Bossier and Caddo Parish public schools. You can stop by either of these locations this week with your donation!
