The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra is set to honor one of rock's most talented performers this month.  The SSO is set to present The Music of David Bowie on Saturday, January 12th at starting at 7 pm.  The works of Ziggy Stardust are set to be explored orchestrally at Shreveport's Strand Theater. If you are a fan of his work, this is a golden opportunity to hear the wonderful melodies, rhythms, lyrics, and phrases of Bowie in a beautiful new form.

The event will feature a full rock band and renowned vocalist Tony Vincent (from "The Voice"), and the set list includes favorites like "Space Oddity,” “Under Pressure,” “Let’s Dance,” “Fame” and “Young Americans.”  This special event will not interfere with the regularly scheduled “Music Moves the Soul” themed-season currently underway featuring works from Beethoven, Mozart, Bach and Glass.

I have no doubts that the SSO will transform the night into a stirring tribute to one of modern music's greatest.  If you are a Bowie fan, grab your tickets and more info visit shreveportsymphony.com or call (318) 227-8863.
