Forecasters with the NWSS are predicting that the lion share of the Arklatex is at marginal risk of severe weather late Wednesday with the potential for quarter to half dollar sized hail, maximum wind speeds of 60 to 70 miles per hour and a very low potential for possible tornadoes.

Some forecasting models are showing the increased potential for the rain to hit soon after 12:00 pm on Wednesday with those storms lasting until approximately 10:00 pm tomorrow night.

As the storms move out of the area, temperatures will begin to drop.  At the start of the rain, they're expected to be in the low 70's but are forecasted to ultimately drop down to a bone chilling 25 degrees by Friday morning.

That obviously brings on the potential for other weather threats as any surface still wet after temps drop below the 32 degree mark could begin freezing and bring on hazardous driving conditions during the early morning hours.

Saturday morning's forecasted low of 22 degrees could set the new low temperature mark thus far in 2022 and could possibly see broken water pipes in the affected area.

Of course, preparation is the formula for success to best these forecasted temps.
