My friend and running inspiration, Hillary Doyal, sent me this story earlier today. It's the story of a woman from right here in Shreveport, LA named Sarah Evans. And much like me earlier this year, Sarah decided enough was enough and got running!

After a trip to Las Vegas for her 30th birthday in 2012, unhappy with how miserable she was from all the walking and after seeing the pictures from her trip, Sarah got down to business and downloaded the #C25K program. My personal turning point was similar... I came to the decision to strap on my running shoes after a girls trip to Lexington where I was consistently struggling to keep up with my friends. At first, Sarah had trouble running for 30 seconds straight and I can totally relate! Running 90 seconds straight during the beginning of the program was ROUGH just 6 weeks ago. Now I can run 20 minutes without stopping to walk.

Seriously, Sarah's story could be my own. I was embarrassed by my weight and I still am, which totally sucks because I'm in the public eye. I'd wear figure hiding clothes and hated taking pictures. Now, I'm on my 7th week of doing the Couch to 5K program and I couldn't be happier! So far, by running and eating right, using the Zeal for Life Challenge program, I've been able to shed 10 lbs. I can't wait to see what I look like in 6 months or in a year! My body hasn't changed like Sarah's yet, but I'm already more comfortable with myself. Being able to do something you previously thought was impossible is a huge self esteem boost!

Sarah was able to lose an incredible 120 lbs! I can't tell you how much I look up to you Sarah! From now on  (sorry Hillary), you're my inspiration!

Here's a photo gallery that Sarah shared with me. Her story is truly inspirational! I hope to one day post a similar photo gallery!
